Systemwide University Advancement

University Advancement encourages and facilitates private support to enhance the University's mission of providing a high-quality, affordable higher education to meet the ever-changing needs of California. The Office of Systemwide Advancement provides a number of support-related services for the University community to build fundraising capacity and ensure accountability. Our role is to facilitate policy development, promote model practices, coordinate professional development programs, troubleshoot issues, and produce accountability reports. Systemwide Advancement also assists donors with an interest in supporting systemwide or regional scholarships and programs.

Private support helps the California State University open access to a broad and diverse student population, build technologically advanced libraries and classrooms, and support innovative teaching models and partnerships. In 2006-2007, donors committed nearly $326 million in new gifts, pledges and testamentary provisions in support of these efforts. This new philanthropic activity builds a pipeline of support that helps the CSU have enormous impact on California's economic, social and cultural prosperity.
