The Community Relations office is an integral part of the Division of Business and Finance. It fosters connections and relationships with communities of color in California and the West through civic involvement.
The CSU network of public universities is committed to community responsibility through outreach to groups that have been underserved in higher education. The CSU's long-established commitment is realized through the sponsorship of community events, conferences, planning sessions and general meetings by the Community Relations office. These venues provide an opportunity to promote institutional connections and impact the planning and the policy development of community organizations.
The Community Relations Office funnels community feedback and response directly to the Chancellor's Office, the Executive Council and other CSU arenas. This feedback is often reflected in programs that serve the community, such as the CSU's annual Super Sunday program in the African American Community.
The Community Relations office also serves as a liaison between the CSU and community-based organizations such as the following:
The Community Relations office is a CSU contact to California state agencies, public television, and various corporations, such as Edison International, Lockheed Martin Corporation; Enron Corporation; and Pacific Bell.
Community Relations supports the CSU's activities with professional and philanthropic organizations (national and international), advancement research and information development.
