New Name. New Mission. New Possibilities.
Throughout the nation and within the CSU, the community engagement
movement has taken hold. Service-learning offices are expanding to better serve their campuses
and communities. As the result of a year-long strategic planning process, the CSU is ushering
in its new name,
The Center for Community Engagement.
From the Freshman Year Experience through Senior Capstones, service-learning
plays a prominent role in community efforts and is integral to the expansion of other community
engagement activities. For example, voter registration drives, community-based participatory
research, community centered forums, and alternative spring breaks.
